There’s More To Designer Glasses Than Meets The Eye

Choosing new glasses, whether they are prescription glasses or sunglasses, can change the way you look.Glasses are not purely a functional thing to help you see more clearly, they also say something about your personality and individuality. You want to know that your glasses look great on you as well as being comfortable and functional, and for this reason more and more people are choosing to go for designer frames.

There is a seemingly endless selection of different designer styles in all shapes and sizes, colours and materials. The choice sometimes seems overwhelming. You should know what sort of image you want to present before choosing new designer glasses.A reserved, sensible look might be best for glasses which are primarily worn at work. If you want to make a statement and go for bright unrestrained glasses there are dozens of recognised designer brands out there, including Prada glasses for example that combine an intrinsic sense of style with the name recognition that is more of a fashion and lifestyle statement. Whichever way you lean, choose designer glasses to suit the shape of your face and not just your outfits or your desired social standing. This is just as important when deciding on designer sunglasses.

If you’ve got a square face then round or oval style frames will probably suit you best.Smaller, rounded or square frames suit those whose face is narrower at the bottom than the top. Don't go for a style which widens at the top as they will only exaggerate your face shape, as will frames with decoration at the sidse or temples. People with a round face and chin can get away with wider styles. Styles that have small round shapes and very large frames will make your face look rounder and should be avoided.

Oval Faces with a wide forehead, gently curving jaw and high cheekbone will suit pretty well any style, so your choice is virtually unlimited.A long face with high cheekbones and a deep forehead will look good with wider glasses that have a stronger top line. A larger, square frame will help ‘balance’ a long oval face, although you should avoid small square shapes. Bold, bright designs will suit you if your face widens at the jaw, but narrower frames will not look so good.

With designer sunglasses in particular, remember that, aside from making you look good, the primary role of these items is still to protect your eyes from the harmful effects of UV radiation. If you can, try the glasses on for comfort, style and feel.Lastly never forget that although a designer label is a fashion statement, at the end of the day it's only your own opinion that matters, as long as you feel comfortable with your choice it's the right one!
