Shaving Can Be Really Easy And Eco-friendly.

Straight blade vs the Electric Shaver.

Shaving is a part of life that each of us must deal with, but that does not mean it has to be a real problem.

Typically shaving was done in the past with a straight razor blade and a crude foam or paste as a lubricant. This can typically lead to ingrown hairs, damaged skin, razor burn, you name it.

Fortunately society has advanced and shaving technology has advanced with it. Standard razors have served us well over the course of time, but electric razors have some truly significant advantages over the traditional straight blade. They never leave nicks and cuts in your skin, but if not cleaned they can also irritate the skin. Braun Electric Shavers typically offer a great solution to this problem by cutting the most hair in the fewest number of passes possible.

They are a great for people with active lifestyles as they are very quick to use. The blades in an electric razor last much longer than disposable blades or even traditional straight blades. This leads to them being much more “Green” choice for our society as there is less waste product as a result of their use and less energy consumed in the manufacture of the packaging that the disposables typically come in. Of course, what they offer in all these great benefits they do have one drawback and that is they are a bit hard to control than a traditional straight blade. This can be problematic for men with breads, but overall electric razors are a vastly superior choice for almost all usages.

What about cleaning?

While it is true that yes, with a straight blade all you have to do it wipe off the blade, and with a disposable you can throw it away when you are done this doesn’t have to mean that the electric shaver is at a disadvantage. Most electric shavers are actually very easy to clean and maintain. Typically you can simply remove the shaver head and empty the trimmed hairs that are left over. Disassembly and reassembly is typically a very easy process taking less than 15 seconds. This is not a big drawback in our minds.

Think Green!

One very large advantage the electric shaver has is that there is very little waste produced as result of its use compared to a disposable razor. For most of us with typical amounts of facial hair a disposable razor will last between one and three uses before it’s too dull to work effectively anymore. Typically with a Braun Electric Razor the blades will last between three and nine months! That’s a phenomenal difference that must not be ignored as our society moves into a more eco-friendly mode. Typically when the razors in an electric model needs to be disposed of, there is much less material being thrown away with very little and typically no plastic content meaning that if you really wanted to, you could actually recycle the electric razor heads through any metal recycler.

Overall electric razors are the intelligent choice to make. They have significant benefits compared to disposable or straight razors, their disposable parts can be recycled in most cases and the upkeep of them is virtually no greater than a disposable blade. All of this is a win-win scenario for the end user like you and me.
