For some women, bacterial vaginosis is little more than a temporary inconvenience and one which either goes away on its own or with a quick dose of antibiotics. For many of us though, BV becomes something which is always lurking in the background, ready to break out with a vengeance whenever it feels like it!

So why is this? Why do some women never have BV at all? Why do others only have it once and then it goes? Why do some of us never manage to get rid of bacterial vaginosis?

Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an imbalance of the naturally occurring bacteria within the vagina. Under normal circumstances, the vagina's own ecosystem manages very well without interference and is largely self-cleansing. When you have bacterial vaginosis, the pH level of the vagina will shift from its normally healthy acidic level to alkaline, which supports the growth of bad bacteria.

Any harmful bacteria is normally dealt with by the beneficial bacteria which usually flourishes. Sometimes, the levels of harmful bacteria become high and cannot be dealt with as usual and this causes the symptoms of BV which include a foul, fishy smelling vaginal discharge which is white/gray and watery. Some women also experience itching and burning around the sensitive vaginal tissues.

There are many different reasons why this imbalance might occur. Some women learn their own personal trigger points but others simply cannot determine what is causing the outbreaks and nor can experts. This means that endless rounds of antibiotics and over the counter remedies will not get rid of bacterial vaginosis in the long term because whatever is causing it is still present. Common causes include smoking, overwashing, using perfumed products around the vagina, douching, being "under the weather", a change of sexual partner, wearing damp swimwear and even wearing synthetic panties!

If you would like to know how to get rid of bacterial vaginosis, the only surefire way is to use a multifaceted strategy which uses the following approaches

* Strategies to give symptomatic relief
* Ways to strengthen and enhance the immune system
* Increasing the levels of good bacteria
* Killing off harmful bacteria
* Methods of eliminating the root causes

If you suffer from recurrent BV, then using an all-encompassing strategy is the only way to guarantee that you can live free of this dreadful condition. Often, home remedies for bacterial vaginosis are the way forward. Using ad-hoc strategies may give some relief but will not provide a long term and permanent cure.

By treating BV naturally, you can quickly restore balance in the vagina and get back to normal within no time, even if you are a long term sufferer.

There is an excellent, robust strategy which is guaranteed to work and which has helped many thousands of women worldwide to get rid of bacterial vaginosis for good. If you would like to see further details, please visit Natural home remedies for bacterial vaginosis.

The first question that many people ask me when they discover that they have contracted warts on their genitals is whether there is a genital warts cure or not. When you have an STD, the first thing that you want to do is to get rid of it so you can get on with your life disease free.

Here are a few of the main reasons that people want to cure themselves of these warts forever.

1. If you are in a relationship and you cheated, these nasty lumps on your genital are a sure fire way that you will be caught.

2. If you meet someone new, you do not want them to be repulsed by the fact that you have this STD.

3. If you are going to take the next step or sexual intercourse with someone that you love, you do not want to take the risk of giving them genital warts.

4. You do not want to feel like you are dirty and tainted.

5. Genital warts and other STDs are seen as a sign that you are promiscuous and that is not what you want others to think of you.

6. You do not want anyone to see these warts when you are in a swim suit or standing at a urinal.

Unfortunately, the statement that "There is a genital warts cure." is a fallacy. That is right. It is false. As a matter of fact there is no cure for genital warts.

Before you start to panic let me just tell you that this does not mean that you will have to live with penis warts, vaginal warts or anal warts for the rest of your life. In fact, once you clear up this outbreak of warts, you may never have another one again!

Here is a quick explanation of why that is true. Genital warts are caused by a virus known as the Human Papillomavirus or HPV. This virus, in its active form, produces proteins that cause the growth of genital warts. There is no cure for HPV, once you have it, you will always have it. But it is possible for the virus to be in its inactive form. This means that it is not producing any proteins that cause the growth of warts on your genitals. It is actually quite likely that after your initial outbreak your body's immune system will fight off the virus and force it into dormancy. At this stage your immune system has built up your bodies ability to keep this virus dormant for the rest of your life. The virus will only return to its active state if your immune system is compromised.

So not there is not a genital warts cure but it is possible to get rid of them and never have them return!

Are you interested in a genital warts cure that will rid you of genital warts quickly, painlessly and naturally?

Here it is: natural genital warts cure

This methods has even been shown to be more effective than the treatment that you would receive in a doctors clinic with a lower chance of recurrence!!

Many women find that from time to time, they suffer from bad vaginal odor. This is an extremely common problem and you need not be alarmed as it can be easily resolved, no matter what the extent. There are several simple home remedies for bad vaginal odor which you can try right away. These could be enough to resolve the problem.

One common cause of fishy vaginal odor is overwashing. This is rather ironic as at the first sign of an unpleasant smell-what would we do? Try to wash it away! This can upset the delicate balance of the natural flora within the vagina triggering the growth of harmful bacteria which causes fishy vaginal odor. The problem can be even worse if you use highly scented products, such as perfumed shower gels, bubble baths or soaps. The same applies to douching-this can also upset the pH levels and is simply not a good way to cleanse the vaginal area. Therefore, wash the vaginal area no more than twice a day and use only unperfumed soap.

Another cause of bad vaginal odor can be having sexual intercourse without a condom. Although not normally a problem, sometimes the semen of a new partner can cause an imbalance as semen is slightly alkaline and the vaginal is naturally mildly acidic. While the problem persists, use a condom. In time, the body will become "used" to the semen, but you may find that this takes a while. Some women do find though, that this is an ongoing problem and the best thing you may be able to do is to deal with the issue on an ongoing basis and make using condoms part of your routine.

Other home remedies for bad vaginal odor revolve include taking great care to change your sanitary protection at the time of your period even when the flow is light as stale blood can cause bad vaginal smell. Also, never forget to remove the last tampon of your period. Thin panty liners are also really useful if you have some general discharge as these will absorb a large amount of odor. Plus, they can be changed regularly throughout the day which is really useful if you're at work.

If you have other symptoms in addition to the bad vaginal odor which include an itching and burning sensation around the vaginal area and a discharge which is watery in consistency and gray or white in color, you are very likely to have the very common condition, bacterial vaginosis.

Prompt action is always a good idea if you have BV as although not dangerous in the early stages, if left untreated bacterial vaginosis can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and even infertility.

Sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse and are highly infectious diseases. Unprotected sexual contact risks the lives of the young by afflicting with sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV infection and even unwanted pregnancy. Every year, nearly nineteen million cases of sexually transmitted diseases are reported in the United States alone and out of these, half of the cases involve people from the age group of fifteen years to twenty four years.

The best way to make sure the adolescent doesn’t contract sexually transmitted diseases is to abstain from all types of sexual activities. In spite of this, if the adolescent becomes sexually active, he/she must be advised by the parents to take precautionary measures to reduce the risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease. The best precautionary measure is to use a condom every time the adolescent has sexual intercourse. Only when other sexually transmitted diseases are prevented and controlled, HIV infections can be prevented.

It is best when the adolescent delays and abstains from sexual relationships, because the younger the person, the more susceptible he/she is to get a sexually transmitted disease. Having sexual contact during menstruation is also risky. It is good to avoid anal intercourse and if it is performed condom is a must, even when having oral sex. Every person should get STD checkups as frequently as possible, irrespective of being sexually active or not, after they turn into adolescents. Precaution must also be taken when getting injected by an intravenous drug, that the needle used to inject must be sterile. The adolescent must be educated about the symptoms and risks of sexually transmitted diseases.

Adolescents must be thoroughly informed even if they say they know it all. They must be asked to indulge in only safe sex, if doing so. Parents should talk honestly and calmly about safe sex and must answer all their child’s queries. Topics such as STDs, birth control methods, having sex because of peer pressure, and date rape must be discussed in detail. Most people think that kissing is safe, but it can spread the sexually transmitted disease, herpes and many other diseases. Condoms do not provide hundred percent protections for genital warts, AIDs and genital warts. Females shouldn’t douche as it can make the infection go deeper into the reproductive tract and can also wash off spermicidal protection. At a time, sexual intercourse must be provided with only one partner, who isn’t involved with any other sexual partner.

The sexually transmitted diseases are Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or AIDS, Human Papillomaviruses or HPVs, chlamydial infections, pelvic inflammatory disease or PID, Gonorrhea, Genital Herpes, syphilis, and genital warts. The symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases take time to surface. Some of them are also symptom less and even these diseases can be contagious. Especially in the case of female, the symptoms of sexually transmitted diseases can be confused with the symptoms of other diseases. But females get severe symptoms and get it more frequently. Sexually transmitted diseases can harm the fallopian tubes and uterus. It can even lead to inflammatory disease, which in turn can cause ectopic pregnancy or infertility. Cervical cancer, in females, can be associated to sexually transmitted diseases. If a female gets a sexually transmitted disease during her pregnancy, the disease can pass onto her child. Sometimes the newborn’s infections can be treated successfully, but at other times, the child can be disabled for life or die.

If an adolescent is diagnosed with sexually transmitted diseases, his or her treatment must start immediately. The early the sexually transmitted diseases are diagnosed, the easier it is to treat them successfully. The other sexual partner must be informed so that they can get themselves diagnosed and can undergo treatment. The adolescent must be instructed to stay away from sexual activity while the treatment is going on. The checkup must be followed after the treatment. Tests such as pelvic examination, Pap test, and test for STDs should be taken periodically.

Sexually transmitted diseases can affect people of all economic levels and backgrounds. Half of the cases of sexually transmitted diseases involve young people below the age of twenty five. The more sexually active the person is the more risk he/she is. And multiple sex partners at a given time are very dangerous too and must be strictly abstained from.
